Asst Dir Day & Res Srv

Activities include but are not limited to the following:
Model, promote and support the organizational performance values.
Implement a continuous quality improvement process for department services and administrative functions.
Ensure opportunities for staff development and maintain a work environment conducive to performance excellence and full participation of individuals or teams.
Maintain positive relationships with consumers, families, community organizations, referral sources, and governing bodies.
Review, analyze and manage assigned programs, both programmatically and fiscally, to meet the current and future needs of our consumers, families, community, staff and the agency.
Provide proactive leadership in the development, support and achievement of the Agency's strategic goals and Division work plans.
Implement and ensure compliance with the policies, procedures and regulations of the Agency and with all pertinent government regulations and operating standards.
Oversees processes to determine customer requirements, expectations, and how relationships with customers are built and their satisfaction determined and maintained.
Gather and analyzes information and data in order to make process improvement, achieve performance results, strategic planning and to facilitate leadership decisions.
Volunteer and demonstrate good community citizenship by participating in community activities with organizations consistent with the Agency mission and values..
Establish a work environment that creates positive communication between supervisors and employees and assimilates new employees to the Agency's culture, values and mission.
Responsible for Division Administrator On-Call (AOD) four to six weekends per year.
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions in potentially crisis situations when circumstances are warranted.
Participate in activities as part of the team that may include meetings, trainings, and committees.
Bachelors degree required in Psychology, Sociology, or other related Human Services field. Masters degree preferred.
Three (3) years or more experience in supervisory experience.
Demonstrated understanding and application of Positive Supports for People and leadership.
Must have advanced understanding and experience in budgeting skills and an understanding and ability to work within fiscal business processes.
Must possess organizational and task management skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of OPWDD regulations pertinent to responsible programs and must have knowledge of environmental trends.
Certain deadlines and unanticipated developments may require work during evenings, weekends, etc.
Must possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Intermediate computer skills required (Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
Must have a valid driver's license.
This position has regular and substantial unsupervised or unrestricted physical contact with individuals receiving services and is required by law to be fingerprinted for a criminal history record check in accordance with the NYS Justice Center and the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD).

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
